HE Quality Enhancement: An Action-Research Approach to the Arts, Humanities and Humanistic Social Sciences (4-6 March 2024)

To continue the action-research projects launched at the 6^th-9^th September 2023 workshop, including:

• Review progress on action research studies to date
• Introduce principles of deductive and inductive coding of qualitative data
• Familiarise use of MAXQDA2022 software for coding and analysis
• Provide guidance on academic writing and journal article structure, with a focus on introduction and methodology.

Workshop participants will be able to:

• Apply key principles of qualitative data analysis
• Use the basic functions of MAXQDA2022 data analysis software to analyse their data sets
• Write a clear and logical introduction to an academic article comprising the elements outlined in the CARS (Creating A Research Space) model
• Write an effective methodology for an academic article.
