Main Workshop Aims

• To introduce the key ethical principles & methodologies of participatory action research.
• To facilitate action-research design on key priorities for HE in Northwest Syria, with an explicit focus on the arts, humanities and humanistic social sciences.
• To introduce design thinking principles for academic programme design.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Applying the principles of action-research design to address a specific challenge or problem relating to higher education.
• Understanding how to refine research questions.
• Developing the skills to design research programme including distribution of tasks and responsibilities. 
• Reflecting on ethical constraints, requirements and responsibilities in the research process
