Educating the Educators (25-26 July 2022)
Led by: Dr Tom Parkinson/University of Kent and Prof Aysha Divan/University of Leeds.
Main Workshop Aims
- Identify key orientations to learning and how these might apply to their context;
- Recognise UK/European expectations of graduates and be able to compare this with expectations and aspirations held within the context of their current institution;
- Use a curriculum framework to enhance or plan a new curriculum; and
- Consider how they can actively help support pedagogic change amongst their faculty colleagues and the wider university.
Key Outcomes
- Understand qualification levels and credit frameworks and how these inform programme design and transferability;
- Apply Blooms taxonomy in the design of programme and module descriptions;
- Understand and apply principles of assessment and feedback in student assessment;
- Apply the UCL ABC method of course design to develop a new course for addressing knowledge gaps, incorporating student-centred, active learning approaches;
- Reflect on their knowledge and skills in relation to the UKPSF standards and develop an action plan for individual professional development and support of faculty colleagues.
