Mahmoud has been documenting the historic city of Aleppo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as its destruction during the war and reconstruction, as captured in his exhibition: ‘Aleppo: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’, awarded a Fondazione Santagata Special Mention. The award is dedicated to the best projects realised in territories or communities with UNESCO designation and capable of promoting sustainable development. His work will result in a database of 50 of Aleppos’ historic buildings.
