Professor Jen Baird

Jen Baird, FSA is Professor of Archaeology in the Department of History, Classics and Archaeology at Birkbeck College, University of London. Her work focusses on archaeological archives, both as sources for previously ignored data such as graffiti and household assemblages, and as subjects themselves which can allow the study of the history of archaeology and the formation of archaeological knowledge, particularly through photography. Among her recent publications are the book Dura-Europos (Bloomsbury), and a co-edited special issue of The Bulletin of the Institute of Classical Studies entitled Remembering Roman Syria.

البروفيسورة جين بيرد (Jen Baird)، هي أستاذة علم الآثار في قسم التاريخ والكلاسيكيات والآثار في كلية بيركبيك، جامعة لندن. ويركز عملها على المحفوظات الأثرية كمصادر للبيانات التي جرى تجاهلها سابقًا مثل الكتابة على الجدران والتجمعات المنزلية، وكموضوعات بحد ذاتها يمكن أن تسمح بدراسة تاريخ علم الآثار وتشكيل المعرفة الأثرية، لا سيما من خلال التصوير الفوتوغرافي. من بين منشوراتها الحديثة كتاب Dura-Europos (Bloomsbury)، وعددٌ خاص مُشارك في تحريره من نشرة معهد الدراسات الكلاسيكية بعنوان “تذكُّر سوريا الرومانية.”
