Jihan Sayed-Issa

Jihan Sayed-Issa is Syrian, now living in Gaziantep. She is an award-winning poet, short story writer, essayist and critic. She has several short story collections including The People Want. Her short story The Dead Mapmut was made into a film at Harvard University, and screened at international festivals, winning best screenplay award at the Oneota Film Festival. She is also a Writers’ Room of Boston essay winner. Jihan has also published critical works on feminist literature in the Syrian revolution at a Jordan Research Centre (Camp Literature Ibtisam Shakush). She has presented and supported numerous cultural events and festivals, including at the Foundation for a Cultural Library for Syrians in Gaziantep. She has served as jury member in many competitions, including Knights Competition with Palestine House of Poetry. She has translated numerous short stories from Arabic to Turkish and published in a Turkish newspaper.

جيهان السيد عيسى Jihan Sayed-Issa هي سوريّة تعيش الآن في غازي عنتاب. وهي شاعرة حائزة على جوائز وكاتبة قصص قصيرة وكاتبة مقالات وناقدة. لديها العديد من مجموعات القصص القصيرة بما في ذلك مجموعة الشعب يريد. تمّ تحويل قصّتها القصيرة الماموث الميّت إلى فيلم في جامعة هارفارد عُرض في المهرجانات الدولية وفازت بجائزة أفضل سيناريو في مهرجان أونيوتا السينمائي. وهي أيضًا فائزة بجائزة المقال من غرفة الكتّاب في بوسطن Writers’ Room of Boston. نشرت جيهان أيضًا أعمال نقد حول الأدب النسوي في الثورة السورية في مركز الأبحاث الأردني أدب المخيم ابتسام شاكوش. قدّمت ودعمت العديد من الأحداث والمهرجانات الثقافيّة، بما في ذلك تأسيس مكتبة ثقافيّة للسوريين في غازي عنتاب. عملت كعضو لجنة تحكيم في العديد من المسابقات، بما في ذلك مسابقة الفرسان مع بيت الشعر الفلسطيني. وقد ترجمتْ العديد من القصص القصيرة من العربيّة الى التركيّة ونشرتْ في إحدى الصحف التركيّة.
