Dr Mirela Barbu

Dr Mirela Barbu is Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Sussex Business School. She spent fifteen years in the field of active labour policies in Italy at a top institutional level. Since moving into an academic environment, the key driver to her research has been understanding how globalization has impacted on entrepreneurship, especially in developing countries which have joined global value chains with the hope of sharing major economic gains of global development. She has carried out extensive research in Eastern European countries to analyse how small and medium enterprises operate in challenging situations, both as a liberating force for development, but also requiring new solutions. The role of national and international institutions in promoting or hindering this development is another key area in her research.

د.ميريلا باربو Dr. Mirela Barbu هي محاضر أوّل في إدارة اللوجستيات وسلسلة التوريد في كلّية إدارة الأعمال بجامعة ساسكس University of Sussex Business School. أمضت خمسة عشر عامًا في مجال سياسات العمل النشطة في إيطاليا على مستوى مؤسسي رفيع. كان المحرّك الرئيسي لأبحاثها منذ انتقالها إلى البيئة الأكاديميّة هو فهم كيفيّة تأثير العولمة على ريادة الأعمال لا سيما في البلدان النامية التي انضمّت إلى سلاسل القيمة العالميّة على أمل مشاركة المكاسب الاقتصاديّة الرئيسيّة للتنمية العالميّة. كما أجرتْ بحثًا مكثّفًا في دول أوروبّا الشرقيّة لتحليل كيفية عمل الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسّطة في المواقف الصعبة كقوة محرّرة للتنمية ولكن مع تطلّبها لحلول جديدة. كما أن دور المؤسّسات الوطنيّة والدوليّة في تعزيز أو إعاقة هذا التطوّر هو مجال رئيسي آخر في بحثها.
